Developers of the upcoming Motorsport Manager game have released further details about the title, which is scheduled to launch next month.
Playsport games, which has been backed by the European arm of gaming giant SEGA, announced the management simulation game was in development back in May, expanding the successful mobile application game into a computer version.
The title remains without an official release date, although it is on track for a September release with a formal announcement expected soon.
A third tier of motorsport has been added to the game in the past three months, which allows players to take charge of a single-seater team and progress through to the top level of motorsport.
It will now comprise the World Motorsport Championship, the Asia-Pacific Super Cup and the European Racing Series.
"We wanted to add just that little bit more - have that extra step, that extra championship to go through," said Playsport founder and chief technology officer Christian West.
"There are quite a lot of different rules in the game regarding refuelling or banning it, spec parts and so on.
"Some series have no development so it becomes all about raceday strategy and set-up and getting that stuff right.
"Because we had so many rules we wanted to show them off a little bit more, so the third series came in as a way to show the variety in the game."
As well as developing an additional level of single-seater competition, much of the past three months has been spent ironing out bugs in preparation for the game's launch, as well as improving the character and personality traits of the drivers and other characters in the game.
"We've had tonnes of bug fixes, but the biggest thing we've added is to try and get a bit more of a character and personality across," said design director Rob Pearson.
"The drivers have their personality traits now; they come in all shapes and sizes, some are a bit arseholey and others are friendly and easier to work with and make the mechanics happy. Some are more marketable.
"It's kind of true to life - we wanted to get that aspect in because people are always talking about drivers and it's a huge part of the sport.
"We wanted to really show the full breadth of characters that motorsport has to offer."
Developers have also announced that customers who pre-order the game - which will be available to PC, Mac and Linux users via the Steam distribution platform - before its September release will receive a 10% discount on the £24.99 retail price.
Downloadable expansion packs, including different disciplines of motorsport, will also be made available after the initial launch of the game.
